The Heart and History of the Manna House

The Manna House was founded in 1997 by Bob Mersmann and Dan Boden in response to their pastor who said, “Church is not in the building, it is out in the community, so get out in the community and have church.”

In response to that challenge, God gave Bob the vision to use his family property in Brookshire, Texas, to help others. That vision was to give men struggling with addictions a safe place to be fully recovered and restored to an abundant life of sobriety in Christ. Manna House is the result of that vision.

Since 1997, the Manna House has been operating in Brookshire, Texas, as a residential addiction recovery and rehabilitation campus.  During this time over 900 men have lived in the Manna House. Many miraculous transformations have taken place in the lives of the residents who committed fully to living this transformed life, affecting not only them but their families, friends, and communities.

Manna House has developed a unique and proven program that blends Biblical principles and the 12 Steps of AA under the direction of a Licensed Counselor, in a safe, peaceful, residential setting.  Our open and caring staff understand the recovery process, many having experienced it first-hand, and are committed to help each resident and their family through this journey.
